Eligibility
A Candidate for being, eligible for admission to the Degree Course in Mass Media shall have passed 12th Std. Examination of the Maharashtra Board of Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent and secured not less than 45% marks in aggregate at first attempt. Every candidate admitted to the degree course in the constituent /affliated college/recognised institution conducting the course, shall have to register himself/herself with the University.

THE SELECTION PROCESS
A candidate, for being eligible for admission to the B.M.M. degree course shall have passed 12th std. Examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Higher Secondary Education or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto at one and the same sitting and should have secured not less than 60% marks in case of students belonging to the General Category, not less than 55% in the case of students belonging to the Minority category and not less than 50% marks in the case of students belonging to Reserved Category.
Applications for admission to the First Year BMM will have to be done through an online system available on our website at www.xaviers.edu on the Homepage, from the 1st of May to the 1st of June 2011. Please read the Notice on the Website Homepage for more details. The actual admissions will begin only after the declaration of results of the 12th in Mumbai.
Students passing the 12th Std or any other examination conducted by Boards/Universities outside Maharashtra State, should apply to the college for a provisional eligibility certificate. To apply for this one has to display the original Mark sheet at the College office, along with 2 photocopies of the same. For confirmation of the eligibility, students should submit to the College Office, before the close of the first Semester, the Statement of Marks, the Passing Certificate and the Migration Certificate.
At the time of admission the student must submit the following documents in original along with duly attested photocopies.
- 12th Std Marksheet
- Baptism Certificate (For the Minority community - Christians)
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Documentary Evidence regarding special category status:
Special Category consists of:
· Wards of Transferred State/Central Govt. and Pvt. Sector employees, wards of employees of Defence Dept./ex-service personnel, wards of Freedom Fighters, physically handicapped candidates, and students who have met with accidents. · AWARD WINNERS at the District/State/National Level in Sports or cultural activities. The total fees, including deposit and laboratory fees, as prescribed by the Mumbai University, are as follows:
F.Y.B.M.M. Rs.18,335/- S.Y.B.M.M. Rs.17,115/- T.Y.B.M.M. Rs.16,565/- Note: The Reserved Category Candidates (i.e. SC,ST,VJNT,DT,SBC & OBC) will be entitled to exemption of certain fees as prescribed by the Government, subject to submission of necessary documents along with the application form, if found eligible for such concession.
