Anna University conducts the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) for admission to MBA, MCA, ME/MTech/MArch/MPlan programme in Tamil Nadu offered at Universty Departments of Anna University, Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University, Tirunelveli, Govt Engineering, Arts and Science Colleges, Govt Aided Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges, and Govt Quota seats in self-financing Engineering and Arts & Science Colleges / standalone Institutions Apart from these institutes some Universities and Self–Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the students on the basis of TANCET for their quota of seats TANCET is not limited to candidates of Tamil Nadu only, but admission will be subject to fulfillment of the eligibility conditions of the admitting authority

Eligibility
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the relevant field and obtained at least 50% ( 45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category ) at the qualifying examination
*B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree program ( or )
*B.Pharm / B.Sc. ( Agri. / Forestry / Horticulture / Fishery ) degree program ( or )
*Master's Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed.( or )
*M.Sc. ( 5 years ) Integrated Degree Program ( or )
*B.Sc. ( 3 years ) in IT related major courses and M.Sc. ( 2 years ) in IT related major courses
