Government Industrial Training Institute, Ariyalur was started/Established in the year 1964. The Building was constructed by public works Department. This Institute is having 8 different Trades. The total area of the institute is around 12.06 Acres.

The Institute consists of one Administrative building, Main workshop and three other workshops. Hostel is provided for boys trainees and also hostel is provided by social Welfare Department for 60 SC/ST trainees.

As per G.O Ms. No. 3/ Labour and Employment (S1) Dept/ Dt 05.01.2011 for the construction of building for new trades for Government Industrial Training Institute Ariyalur for 60 lakhs. (Construction of civil work for new trades for Rs.55.68 lakhs + Renovation civil works for up gradation of existing trades for Rs. 4.32 lakhs)
