Kheda district is one of the most progressive districts in the state. It is known as the native of Bismark of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Agriculture industry is playing a vital role in the Socio-Economic growth of the district. However there are other industries also in these areas such as Textile, Carpentry, Engineering, Mica and Dairy product etc. Total number of industries in this district is 537 having 22584 employees with investment worth Rs. 551/- crores.

Taking note of this convenient environment C.V.T. S.S.T. Industrial training Institute was established in 1976 on the land donated by C.V.T. Social Service Trust, Palana headed by Late. Chhotubhai Thakkar, an eminent businessman in the district.

This I.T.I. has 6148.84 Sq.m of construction in 44421.70 Sq.m total areas with Institute building, Hostel building and Staff quarters. In the beginning institute was run in single shift having four trades with 64 seats. After 30 years of successful journey, I.T.I. Palana has become well known nodal institute in the region having as many as 23 trades with 113 staff personnel and 1346 trainees. It is running in 3 shifts. The Institute also conducts short term courses for unorganized sectors and disadvantaged people. With the development of IT sectors institute has started Short Term Computer courses which are getting immense response from local youth. Moreover the Institute has recently launched a new specific course of Sewing Machine Operator under Apparel Park Scheme to meet the challenges in future.
