Govt I.T.I., Kothagudem was established in 1962 under the administrative control of the Department of Employment and Training Department, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad. This Institute is popularly known as Govt. I.T.I., Kothagudem, located in Rudrampur village, Kothagudem mandal, Khammam district. Nearest railway station is Bhadrachalam Road railway station.

This institute is meant for imparting industrial training to the unemployed youth in certain trades like Electrician, Fitter, Draughtsman civil, Draughtsman Mechanical, Turner, Machinist, Welder, Instrument Mechanic, Radio & T V Mechanic. This Institute was upgraded into Centre of Excellence in Automobile sector in the year 2006, to impart industrial training in Automobile modules.
