The institute was established in the year 1986. Now it grows up to 216 seats in 8 trades. Institute is also declared as Public Private Partnership mode from March 2009 with "Gujarat state fertilizers & chemicals ltd.". Institute management committee of this institute has also been converted into the society under the societies registration act, 1950.

Mandvi is located 70 km east of Surat in the downstream of river Tapi. The industrial zone Kim is at 45 km distance from Mandvi. Kim falls on Ahmedabad – Bombay railway line. The power generation unit of K.A.P.S a nuclear power plant is 17 km away east and well known sugarcane factory of Bardoli is 30 km from this town. Mandvi is situated at an altitude of 50 meters and 113 km (Arial distance) from sea coast. The temperature variation for the town comes in the scale of 105.37 F to 59.42 F. There are three State highways passing through the city. The average annual rain fall for the area is 67 inches. ITI Mandvi established in 1985 with2 Trade Mechenic Diesel & Wireman (32 sanction seat & 6 staff).Now it has 8 Trade 276 sanction seat & 32 staff. ITI Mandvi works with G.S.F.C Kosamba (FU) Under Public Private Partnership scheme. ITI also giving trainings in sort term courses through KVK centre & also a Vanbandhu scheme
