The Government I.T.I. (old) Visakhapatnam was established in 1957 scattered in 10 acres area, as per G.O.Ms No. 1956 (Edu.) Deptt. Dt.25th sept, 1957 with 10 trades and 288 trainees as per DGE&T, NEWDELHI norms under CTS mainly to meet the Technical Manpower requirements for ever growing industries in public sector as well as in private sector. At present 6 trades in One year course and 19 trades in Two years Course are existing at the I.T.I and intake capacity is 1065 and it will be increased in future also. So far 31,850 candidates were trained at the institute.
