Institute of Instrumentation and Metrology ITC
IIM - ITC an Educational Foundation is the living symbol of partnership between technical Institutes & Industries and provides purposeful technical education which is widely accepted by industries in India.
This institution is parented by ELECTRO METER CORPORATION (EMC), which has a decade long involvement in calibration sector and is widely known as an eminent multidisciplinary calibration laboratory, accredited to the NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories, under Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt of India). Lack of well equipped technical giants in the industries and the broad streaming away of passed out engineers from the core engineering, is the reason that emphasized EMC to develop the IIM - ITC, having state of art disciplines and instruments. EMC has been feathered with a crown of being nominated to the MSME entrepreneurship award on 28th Aug, 2008 which was hosted at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. The award was presented over by MSME minister, Shri. Dinsha Patel. For catching a glimpse of the same, kindly visit the link at www.emckol.org.
IIM - ITC effectively came into design in the year of 2008 where certification courses in (i) Industrial Equipment & Instrumentation and (ii) Process Control & Automation with affiliation to West Bengal State Council of Technical Education were initially imparted. Having these years of successful experience and being incessantly encouraged by the students as well as technical bureaucrats, IIM - ITC decided to come up with NCVT affiliated courses. Finally the institute founded its new campus at Udaypur near Belgharia, with more modernized and sleek facilities and better accommodation. The IIM - ITC (IIM – Industrial Training Centre) will be running the two year long courses on the trades of (i) Instrument Mechanic and (ii) Electrician, which are affiliated to the NCVT.
The facility at Udaypur, Belgharia was officially inaugurated by SHRI SOVAN CHATTERJEE, the honorable mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation on 18th Sept, 2010
For effective student guidance and counseling, IIM - ITC has an Advisory Board, Every student, assisted by lecturer can address problems relating to student's attendance, discipline and other issues. Regular meeting of parents and teachers are conducted to assess students’ academic performance and other issues related to students welfare.
There is an appraisal system for students’ feedback. Students’ feedback on teachers' performance help teachers to know the strength and weakness in teaching. To monitor the students' performance, tests are conducted twice in a semester. Reports of the tests are sent to parents on a regular basis.
