MALABAR HIGHER EDUCATIONAL SOCIETY (Regd) was formed to promote the welfare of the socially, educationally and economically backward communities of Kerala. It envisions establishing, maintaining and running educational and technical institutions and research centers.

The Society started the MHES Institute of Industrial Technology-Iti on a sister institution of the MHES College in the year 2008. The MHES IIT-Iti is located in a spacious building near the MHES College Camps.

The Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS) was introduced by Government of India to ensure a steady flow of skilled workers in different trades for the industry and to reduce unemployment among the educated youth by providing them employable training. The administration of the training organization is under the Director General of Employment and Training (DGET), Ministry of Labor, Government of India, and function under the advisory body of National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
