To be a lecturer, you will have to give the NET (National Eligibility Test) or SET (State Eligibility Test) after you have completed your graduation. The other eligibility criteria are:
• candidate must be an Indian National citizen • must have completed 55% marks(50% for SC/ST candidate) in any stream from a recognised University.

Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master's Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science, etc. are eligible for this exam.
When can I fill UGC NET Online Application Form 2021?
UGC-NET 2021 notification was released on February 2, 2021 for the December 2020 cycle. The candidates can fill the UGC NET application 2021 online at the official website. The UGC NET 2021 Exam will be conducted on May 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 17.
The last date to apply online for the UGC NET 2021 (December 2020 Cycle) is March 2 and the last date to pay application fee is March 3, 2021.
University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) is a national-level exam conducted in order to select candidates for only Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor in Indian universities and colleges. UGC NET (University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test) is an exam through which candidates are selected for the post of Assistant Professor (Lecturer) and for Junior Research Fellowship. You must have to complete postgraduation with minimum 55% aggregate marks (Relaxation applicable) to appear in UGC NET. The exam is conducted for 84 different subjects. So, if you meet with the required eligibility criteria of UGC NET then apply for it. The exam is conducted two times a year by NTA (National Testing Agency).
