The examination is conducted for admission to M. Sc. in Biotechnology course at the following institutions:

Eligibility- Candidates with Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education in Physical/Biological/ Agricultural/Veterinary and Fishery Science/ Pharmacy/ Engineering/ Technology or Medicine (MBBS) or BDS with at least 55% marks are eligible to apply for M. Sc. in Biotechnology.

The admission test contains questions on Physical, Biological, Chemical Science and Mathematics. You should be able to answer questions on at least three of these four areas. The questions are set in such a way so as to test your fundamental grasp of the subjects. Often the level of questions are of the standard XII level of studies. You will also find questions of standard B. Sc.

The Bioinformatics Centre at Pune offers

1. M.sc. in bio-informatics two year full time course

Eligibility: Bachelors Degree in Science, Engineering or Technology with at least 60% marks

2. Advanced Diploma in Bio-informatics one year full time course

Eligibility : Post Graduate in any Science Faculty, M.V.Sc., M.Sc. (Agriculture), M.Pharm., M.D., M.E., M.C.A., or B.E., M.B.B.S., B.Tech with at least 60% marks.

Admission is open in both the courses for final year students also. Admission is through a written examination consisting of questions up to Intermediate (10+2) level; covering Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, Statistics, Logic, Reasoning and English.
