Architects find job opportunities in: Construction companies, Architect firms, Real estate companies, Civil engineering consultancy firms, and Urban / Housing development organization, and Government departments. Career prospects of the Architects are generally very good. Though at present the housing sector in India is just recovering from a slump, there are ample possibilities that the sector will see a boom in the near future. Moreover new urban locations are springing up and there is a demand for construction to keep up with the increase in population in these areas. New areas in architecture like Landscape architecture, Urban design and planning are emerging. So there is never a dearth of opportunities. Many Architects open their own firms or work independently after a few years of experience. As per as job opportunities abroad are concerned, one can get jobs in the Middle Eastern and African countries after having 2 or more years of experience in India. Job opportunities in other countries are very few.
